Mental Models & 2 books to supersize your thinking

I’m using this space to capture mental models that I come across, learn about and love.

P.S. I’d recomend reading both Super Thinking: The Big Book of Mental Models by Gabriel Weinberg and Lauren McCann; and The Design of Everyday Things by Donald A. Norman. They’re fantastic books that you’ll read over and over.

Nevin’s Law of double-exponential growth: Staggeringly [read scarily], AI’s intelligence is growing exponentially… Or even double-exponentially as per Neven’s law.

This can be applied to Artificial Intelligence. Back in 2019, Kurzweil predicted that AI will have overtaken human intelligence by 2029. Spurred by generative AI, machine learning and quantum computing, this could happen even sooner. But in chaos lies opportunities – and threats. The spoils of the future belong to whoever harnesses, tames and utilizes generative AI technology most skillfully.

I’ll be adding my other favourite mental models next week and finding ways to organize them.
